Can you exhibit with impact on a budget?
Over the years we have worked with many clients and advised how to create a custom exhibition stand and keep to a budget. It may seem strange to talk about budgets when dealing with large exhibition stands but, it is easy to get lost in the costs involved. Jewelultra has been a long-standing customer of DMS Graphics and we have developed a close relationship when it comes to impact and branding.
Automechanika Frankfurt Custom Exhibition Stand
Early in 2022 Jewelultra approached DMS to discuss the possibility of Designing, Producing and installing their exhibition Stand at Automechanika Frankfurt. This was something DMS would love to get involved with so we all went to work. Lance at Jewelultra had a rigid budget for the stand and this was proving difficult to reach and needed some out-of-the-box thinking. The company wanted to create an impact on a budget for its Diamondbrite Paint Protection System, at the largest automotive accessories show in the world. DMS wanted to create a stand that would get both Jewelultra and DMS Noticed.
T3 Exhibition System
Jewelultra had purchased a T3 system from DMS many years before this show and Lance had always used the system as a self build semi Modular stand. This is what T3 was Designed for and it is a great system for creating an Impact on a budget. The beauty of this system is that it can be re-configured to different shapes and sizes which would enable the usage of the system for many different-sized events. This means that the initial outlay for the system will then reduce future costs of exhibitions.
Impact on a budget needed something more!!
The Stand size for Diamondbrite at Automechanika was 7m by 4m and there was a requirement for extra shelving and cupboard storage plus additional lighting. Initially, DMS approached the T3 manufacturer to purchase more framework but, this would blow the budget out of the water. DMS wanted to create the stand and reach the budget so a plan was hatched. DMS Graphics Ltd decided to create the additional stand and table using a wood framework which would create an extension to the existing system.

Working directly with the Marketing Director at Diamondbrite, DMS Graphics was able to draft design and artwork concepts for Automechanika.
Once the artwork concepts were approved DMS Graphics moved on to a 3d plan to show a concept of the finished stand.
Creating an impact on a budget can be a very live approach and as with all jobs, changes were made before the finished design went live.
Producing a Custom Exhibition Stand
All of the print, production, and creation was carried out in-house at the DMS Maidstone production facility. Mark and Samuel Steward of DMS Graphics worked to create the framework and all of the required graphics. Everything was in-house on this project.
Installation at Automechanika
DMS Graphics personally transported all of the graphics and exhibition stand materials to the Frankfurt Messe. Mark Steward and Samuel Steward Travelled to Frankfurt and installed the exhibition stand over 2 days. DMS graphics handled all of the site logistics and health and safety aspects of the show. This meant that the crew from Jewelultra could turn up to a complete exhibition stand that was ready to go.
The Finished Custom Exhibition Stand
The stand was finished on schedule and the customer was delighted. The flooring was LVT which gave a quality feel and the addition of ambient lighting created the mood. Jewelultra had a very successful show. The stand could be seen from across the hall due to the 4m build height which made a difference as most smaller stands are around 3m high which means they are often obscured by the large companies with massive stands.
Exhibiting at Automotive Live at Birmingham NEC
Jewelultra was very pleased with the finished product at Frankfurt and with the creating impact on a budget approach in mind, they commissioned DMS Graphics Ltd again to produce the stand for AM Live 2022.
Elements of the Frankfurt stand were used to create the Table and stand walls. A new set of Graphics based around the Diamond Bright Ceramic product was created and then the whole stand was erected by Mark Steward and Lance from Jewelultra at the NEC in Birmingham. We chose to go again with the 4m stand height to create maximum visibility.
In conclusion
Working directly with a good customer and making sure you understand what they want to achieve, you can deliver Custom Exhibition Stand on a budget no matter what size the stand is being created. A budget can be big or small but the desire is to stay within scope. DMS Graphics sticks to the quotation provided and will only ever charge more for extra elements and requirements. Good design and lighting can create a great image and help deliver a brand message that will make the investment worthwhile.
