About Mark Steward
I’m Mark, the owner of DMS Graphics Ltd — and my journey in the creative industry began back in 2000. Coming from an IT background, I was recruited by Ian Hutchinson of Hutchinson Motorsport Design, a respected motorsport livery designer. Working alongside Ian gave me the opportunity to learn the craft of high‑level design while contributing to major branding and motorsport projects.
Early Career & Motorsport Design
During my time with Hutchinson Design International, I worked on large‑scale branding projects for the Partners for London Initiative, which included visual branding for London Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted Airports. I also contributed to the branding of the City of Westminster through signage and street furniture design.
As the partnership grew, I became increasingly involved in motorsport design. Between 2001 and 2004, I worked on design concepts for Mild Seven / Renault Formula 1, Chevrolet BTCC, RML ASCAR, Lola LMP 675, Nissan Rally, and Saleen. These projects gave me a deep understanding of visual identity, precision, and how to create graphics that perform at speed — skills that still influence my work today.
Expanding Into Commercial Graphics
After leaving Hutchinson Design in 2004, I joined ESP Technologies to develop new business across the UK. In 2006, I was approached by Nigel Baker and Parvez Kayani to help establish a graphics division within Datateam Business Media. This became DMS Graphic Services, later known as DMS Graphics. Over the next decade, DMS grew into a successful in‑house graphics provider, supporting Datateam’s extensive portfolio of publications, events, and exhibitions.
DMS Graphics Becoming Independent
In 2020, following the impact of the global pandemic, Datateam made the decision to release DMS Graphics. I believed strongly in the business and its potential, so I took the opportunity to take it independent. DMS Graphics Ltd was incorporated on 7th August 2020, continuing operations from the same premises and serving both existing and new clients.
Today, DMS Graphics Ltd operates as a fully independent company offering design, print, exhibition graphics, vehicle branding, signage, and display solutions — all backed by decades of experience.
